Beautiful to see, even better to eat. These little roses are very easy to prepare, and will decorate your Christmas tables with a touch of elegance and a lot of taste!
1 roll of rectangular puff pastry
2 red apples (Fuji type)peach jam or apricot jam
granulated sugar to taste
1 lemonicing sugar to taste
cinnamon powder to taste
Wash the apples well (better if organic), divide them in half, remove the core and the ends, and cut into very thin slices, leaving the peel on. Dip the slices in a bowl with water and lemon juice.
Drain and place on a baking sheet (lined with baking paper), sprinkled with granulated sugar. Bake for about ten minutes at 180°C (preheated oven), to soften slightly.
Meanwhile, roll out the puff pastry and cut it lengthwise into strips about 6 cm wide. Brush the strips with a little jam, then take the apple slices and place them along the strip, slightly overlapping one another. The side with the skin must slightly spill over the edge of the pastry. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder and fold the remaining part of the pastry on the apples: finally roll the strip to form the little roses, being careful that they are not very tight, otherwise the dough does not cook well. Repeat the procedure for the other strips.
Place the roses on a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven at 180°C for about 20-25 minutes.Once cooled, sprinkle the roses with powdered sugar and serve.
